There was some confusion. It is actyually a 1941. The Serial Number is FBH 53548. ... per seller

Are you sure it is a 1938? What is the serial number? Oct-17-06 A: I'm sorry for the mix up I listed this for my dad I thought he said it was a 38 turned out to be a 41 here is the vin#fbh53548 thank you

I agree with the poster who said it's much more likely a 1948. The real ones came out in 39.

their were 2Hs built in 1938,but IH called them a 2F.
i would say that H on ebay has a better chance of being a 1948 model.

I think 1938 was the last year they used the perforated metal seat and glass pack muffler. Also, I think all tractors after 1938 came with matched rear tires, but I could be wrong on that.

I saw that on ebay and thought about contacting the guy to try to help him get it listed right. Not worth it; too many folks resent that sort of thing and are just as apt to tell you to mind your own business.
