After owning it for several years I finally got a chance to plough with my Super A on the weekend and I just wanted to know how deep do these normally get. I have the factory two way ploughs but I could only get about 5" deep, is this normal or have I made a mistake somewhere? Many thanks, tractorsam

Plow should go deeper than 5 inches. The plow we have is a single bottom and it will bury clear to the beam.Does a better job than a set of 3 bottoms I have on a 350.Found a picture in a book somewhere of a super A and the plow was bolted on the underside of the front drawbar instead of on top.Made all the difference in the world.Good luck.

Sam: You should be able to get 7 to 8 deep, those plows are probably 14 or 16 inch bottoms. Do you have the drawbar on front and hooked via linkage to right rockshaft? Send me an e mail, I think I can scare up a photo that may help. Height of the drawbar from ground determines depth of that plow.

You need a manual for the plow and it will tell you how to set and make adjustments. You mite need to lower the drawbar where the beams hook.

I had the same thing when I first hooked mine up.
1. Reverse the drawbar and put it on the front of the drop cases.
2. Remove the two bolts and allow the drawbar to pivot up and down.
3. Mount the plows.
4. I used a chain (There is a flat rod to connect the two but I did not get it when I bought my tractor) to run from the drawbar to the touch control arm that moves when you raise and lower the rear rock shaft. on the right side of the tractor.
5. play with the length of the chain until you get the penetration you want. The points of the plows need to angle down for penetration.

Five inches isnt right. Are the points up to par? There is a provision for lowering the front of the plow to make it more aggressivly dig. You might check to see if the hangers are stoppingit from coming down.
