This spring I did a fluid and filter change on my hydraulic system. I added about 13 gallons of Case/IH fluid until it came out the side plug. Lately, when I start the engine, it takes 60 seconds for the system to build enough pressure to operate any hydraulics or power steering. Sometimes the system will stop functioning all together. I've drained the fluid and am going to replace the filter and fluid again tomorrow. Both the paper and screen looked okay. Can anyone give me any tips or point me towards another culprit?
Thanks!
John

Thanks for those tips. A couple other things I might mention is that the problems seem worse when going uphill. Also, when I last tried using the loader, I could see the lines shudder before the pressure kicked in and the system started working.

JW if you are looseing both hydraulics then I would think sone thing commen to both pumps. Could be bad seal in the crose over tube between filter and pumps bad hey on pump drive gear, bad sucsion tube from rear end. The power steering does not have a flow devider only the hyd pump.

Well if it is not like the other guy said and it is not freezen up yet then i would be looken at the pressure reg. or a sticking flow divider . But i would realy run a flow test on the pumps . I know that you don't have the stuff to do this with but ya can get yourself a hyd pressure gauges that will read atleast 300lbs. and plug that into one of your remotes and see what she has for pressure . or take it into a I H dealer and have them run a flow test and pressure test on it that way you will know forsure that it is not the pump going bad.

JW I had a similar problem with my 560. I found the filter and flud change worked at first . The it started to slow and eventually stopped . I found it was getting water in the system and the reason it stopped is it was watering the fluid down and actually freezing it. Then it would not work. I shedded my 560 and did another fluid change and that fixed it.

Is it getting down to freezing where you are ?
