Seems there is oil leaking from the power steering unit. Is it hard to repair? When we get on the tractor we tend to use the steering wheel for a handle to pull ourselves up. Finally the other day the tractor was sitting idling and when I got on there was a puddle of oil on the deck. I assume the bushing/bearing would also be bad or the seal would not have started to leak. Can I repair or not? Thanks for now.

Almost always this is just the seal. Of all the years working on IHs I have never seen a bad Bearing on the steering shaft of a 66 or 86 series tractor. If its the seal right under the wheel just pull the wheel and put in the seal kit. It is a special seal only used on steering hand pump and is available at your dealer.
