Are they all the same from tractors to construction equipment and among the various sized engines?

I doubt it. The MD used a Champion D89D which is a long electrode HOT plug. The older gas start diesels with 7/8 thread use the W89D & that's what I run in my F20. I am quoting numbers from memory so somebody will correct me if I am wrong.

Hey Cowman - Those numbers sound right! The MD - also TD-6 and UD-6 - use the D89D plugs. It has 18mm threads and a crazy long electrode extension.

The W89D plug is somewhat similar but with with a larger 7/8" thread. A friend's UD-18 power unit uses 'em. I also seem to recall seeing them once in a TD-24 crawler.

I think so, but that is based on only seeing one number on plugs offered for sale. Some have used D21 champs, but my MD would not start as well with them. JimN
