Rear tires; Bias vs Radial

Hello,
I need to get a couple rear tires for my 656 and was wondering if the extra cost of the radial tire was worth it. Was also wondering if an 8 ply bias was more durable than a 6 ply radial. The tractor is mainly used for mowing hay and pasture, though some of the pastures have briars and old stumps and stobs
Thanks for the advice, YC

On my field tractors such as the 1466 I use radials. Costs a little more but works much better in the field for traction plus the wear is better. We typically have/had fields a distance from the farm which required hauling of silage wagons, etc down paved roads. Radial is the only way to go for me.

If you are useing this tractor for rough pasture with stubles& etc you do'nt need the radial.the sidewalls in the radial is not as resistant to objects that the bias tire is.they are great for the feild tractor but not for your all arounder.I know it is'nt worth the cost difference.for that tractor bias be way better down >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> road. been there.

I don't think the ag tire radials are belted. The biggest advantage to radials is better traction when pullin a plow. I use mine bout like you do an I'd rather have the 8 plies.
jus me tho
