826- Power Steering Buzz

I've been noticing a "buzz" from the manual pump right below the steering wheel. It used to be just an occasional thing but it's happening more often. Changes like that always spook me. I notice it most when the tractor is idling, but it does it while underway as well. It seems sensitive to the position of the steering wheel. No noise in one spot, a buzz in another when you move the wheel just a fraction of an inch. The strange part is that it will buzz only for a short while right after you change position of the wheel, then it will stop. Operationally, the steering is fine... no loss of steering at any time. The hyd filter is fresh (within about 50 hours, and I changed all the hydraulic fluid two years and about 90 hours ago. Fluid level is at the full-
line. My manuals don't talk about this scenario and I tried a number of searches in the forum archives, but couldn't find anything that directly matches. Should I be worried?

Past due for a fluid change, Vet? My manual says to change the fluid after 1,000 hours, the filter every 250 hours. Like I said, it's barely been 90 hours. Please tell me more?

That is the main reason for the more freq. fluid changes as it does not get run enough to COOK out any moisture . Case in point the 706 get used about every other day in winter for feeding and some other chores and realy never gets warmed up enough to Cook out the moisture and this one we have to change EVERY SPRING along with severl filter changes thru out the winter . On the 1066 and the 806 that set from the time we finish up harvest till spring tillage they set in a shed and they sweat and before we even think about firen them up the drain plugs a cracked to let the water drip out and this can amount to 3-5 gallon from all the plugs on the bottom . Now if ya just go out and lite them off then this water gets mixed into the oil and will start to plug the filter with a GOO type slugs when the filter gets pluged then the bypass opens and all that goo goes stright thru the pumps and water does not make a good lube for the pumps. and is not good on the hyd valves and even though the screen is of a fine mesh it can and will let small pices of junk thru and this can mess up pumps and valves.

OK, I hear you. Not sure if it applies in my case, though. This tractor is use for tillage only, the hard work that gets it good and hot for 8 hours a stretch. I've just spent about 16 hours working down my fields... and in this clay, that tractor is getting a good workout!!! Anyway, it's doing that, or it's parked. I have a smaller, more fuel efficient tractor I use for the light work. I'm also trying to keep the hours down on the big one too. It's just about to turn 8,200 hours. I want it to last until I hang up my farming spurs. With only 50-60 hours a year, it just might!

BTW, not sure if you remember my TA questions from last year, but this year, it hasn't missed a beat and I've been using it a lot more. I keep finding new opportunities to use it. Like sliced bread, man!

Also, still holding at about 4.25 GPH working hard. Even better in fact. Put in 27 gallons after 6.5 hours work chisel plowing yesterday. Oil consumptions is down too. Just one quart in 16 hours. That's less than 30 percent of what it was when I first got it.

This could be caused by the flowdivider in the MCV or even the pressure reg. or air getting into the sysetm . Also you are past due for a fluid change . With out putting the gauges to it to see just what it is doing i am not even going to try and figure it out . It is like this don't worry about it and run her till she stops working then we will diecet it .
