Farm in IH advertising

I was looking through some older IH advertising books and keep seeing the same farm site used in alot of the pictures. This would have been from '66 series & '86 series (probably in the 1970's and 1980's). Also saw 1440 - 1480 combine pictures taken at this farm.

The farm had several bins with a red cross going across them. The oustide buildings also seemed to have a grayish color to them. Was this an IH testing farm for equipment? Anybody know where it was located and if it still exists?

Thanks

The farm in some of the ads were taken at IH's Hickory Hill Farm, which was quite a ways east of Moline ILL. I dont remember the name of the town close to it though. They used the "FARM" for testing and pictures. They also had a class room there for training service men. This I know is true because I went to a one week school there in the early 70's. They also had indoor areas for the fancy photos where everything is really shined up. The whole "FARM was off limits unless you had special pass to get in.

The site in some of the photos was the old IH Farm at 7S 600 county line road in Hinsdale (now Burr Ridge, IL.) This is now the Case-IH engineering center location.

The farm land that surrounded the engineering center was sold off in the 80's to build mini mansions on.....

IH also had a photo farm near Seneca, IL that is seen in most of the 1960's-70's-80's literature....

You are probably speaking about Hinsdale which was an IH "test farm". I think it was a victim of urban sprawl. If Guy Fay reads this, he will clear it up.

I tried to find some information on the net with no luck. But, the median house value in Hinsdale is $520,000 (year 2000)...wow!
