Buddy bought an M. We went to change the oil & filter and found there was no filter in the housing. The housing has a 3-pronged bracket in it that the bolt in the lid tightens into, but nothing else in there. The filter the IH dealer gave him looks really small. The housing says Model 200-S on it. What's the setup supposed to look like and does anyone know the correct part number for the filter?

John - that looks like the one. Does it have the 3-prong cast peice that locks into the sides of the housing for the bolt to thread into to hold the lid down? I'm in Weatherford, what about you?

Dont know anything about it! A friend had purchased this tractor several years ago with intentions of restoring it, but had to sell it before he ever got started. If I remeber right, its a Donaldson filter set up of some sort.

What part of Texas are you in? The part number sounds kinda like a Luber-Finer part. I have several filters that fit the M.

I have an NOS setup similar to the one in the photo. Several have the old filter still, so one can be matched up with it given the size and shape.

The housing on this tractor is definitely bigger than the one in Cowman's picture and bigger/more squared-off than the one in John's. The lines are all on the bottom, too. Maybe we were told wrong and it's not an M?

When I get one for my H I go to Fisher auto, they have Federated parts. Tell them the year and they have Two different elements. One short the other long, mine takes the long.

I have no clue what you might have but here is the factory filter located at the left rear of engine. Older models have a slightly larger filter but similar and same location. third party image

For SN to 59393 use Wix number 51125 and from SN
59394 on use Wix number 51155. NAPA sells Wix's
oil filters they just drop the first digit (5). Hal

Highly recommend the WIX filter. They have a heavier duty screen on them & that is all that I use on my M.
