Where can I find good high alt pistons for a M farmall? Who makes those fire crater pistons? What size bore of pistons are available? What make of pistons hold up the best? Are M&Ws good? Any input would be nice. Thanks

you sound like you are looking for more power. the best would be high altitude fire craters, but i doubt that justin weber would have any. he would have step head pistons that were ih's standard high altitude. i have fire crater pistons made in america by perfect circle. if interested send me an email, randy ps if you want to spend the money a 400 head would help some too.

You can get a sleeve and piston set for high altitude from weberstractorworks.com. These are the 4.00 inch pistons. They may be able to tell
you who they were made by.

For your cylinder head I would call a reputable
auto machine shop and see what they charge for the head. Hal

Compression wise, which has more, the high altitude pistons or the firecrater pistons?

How much would it cost to port and polish a M Head? When using a 4" bore and the head has been ported, does anything need to be done to the carb (more fuel?)?
