175HP is not happening with stock RPM and 264 naturally aspirated cubic inches. It would take more RPM and more cubes to do it. It would take 450lb/ft torque at 2000 RPM to make those numbers. The only way to make that power is with around 600-700cid considering the poor VE of those old engines. With more RPM you could make the power with less torque, but they would not be pulling 4MPH.

Moral is someone is blowing smoke up your @#!

Turbos10 Don't know about the horse power numbers. But since a stock C 264 put out close 400 ft. pounds of tourqe, although at low RPM I would think if its stroked and bored as far as some do 450 ft. lbs. of tourqe could be made. He did say in post the ones pushing high horsepower were bored and stroked.

Sorry, but that is wishful thinking on the part of your information source. At 400ft/lb the M would put out 121HP at the crank. It was closer to half of that. If you want to do the math; (Torque x RPM)/5252 = Horsepower.

The stock M's were less than 50% on volumetric effciency. It would have to be over 100% which is only possible in a finely tuned automotive race engine...or forced induction.

Not trying to argue, but just want you to understand what you can and can not expect from the mighty 264.

As long as your TA works, you can be very competative in the 1st gear, slow speed classes. Lose the oil bath air cleaner, shave the stock head 75-100k, put a shorter, stiffer governor spring in, go to the electronic ignition with hot coil, use the 4 1/8 M&W pistons/sleeve upgrade (you don't have to bore block to use).

It will come down to how good a job you do balancing/weighting the tractor, type-tread-cut of tires and how good a job you do driving.
