Ok, well I looked at it today. It looks like the outer rim, has been rebuild by weld at some point. Almost invisible until you look into the groove where the gasket sits. It looks deeper there. I"m not sure what to do to fix it, that groove is way too narrow, to try to clean it up with a weld. The old ghasket sealed, but I fumbled with this one for about an hour today, without any luck.

Any ideas? I wondered if I could degreade it with carb cleaner and use permatex gasket stuff in there. It's not too deep, just uneven enough to not seal well.

Yup, I bet some permatex or JB weld would fix it fine. Then never change the gasket again. Once I get a good gasket in the groove, I never change it.

LOL! I thought I was being lazy. I tried to take a gasket out, ended up in pieces, next 10 oil changes haven't touched the damm thing.

Ok good, I'll give that a shot tonight. I wish I'd have asked abotu the gasket first. Oh well, now I know.
