Hey guys, is it possible to have a farmall H Demonstrator? Because I saw a 1946 M that was a demonstrator a couple of week ago. So I wondered if it was possible for my 1946 Farmall H to be a demonstrator? I have had people say there was a Farmall H and M drmonstrator and then I have people that say there wasn"t. So which is it?

Thanks,
Nick

The "White Demonstrator" program was run only in 1950, so right off the bat, there is no way your 1946 H can be a White Demonstrator.

As others have said, only Cubs, Super As, Cs, and selected implements were painted white by IH for the White Demonstrator program. No Hs or Ms were ever painted white from the factory, unless it was by special order.

Your tractor may have been a "demonstrator," meaning an H that the dealer took around to customers' farms to demonstrate its capabilities and features, but there is no way to know that. It was probably "demonstrated" at the farm that became its first home before it was purchased, but that doesn't necessarily make it a "demonstrator." That's try-n-buy :)

I've only heard of A,C, and cub demonstrators. I don't think the larger ones were factory painted white. Chances are some dealer had a lot of H's laying around and wanted to get rid of them and make them stand out from the rest so he painted them white. Our W6 was sold from the dealer with a paint scheme identical to a 460-560-660 because that is what was on the lot at that time and they wanted farmers to think that it was newer than it really was. Does it make it worth more? Ummm. . . Not really but, if it ever gets restored, it will be red and white.

Guys can paint their tractor white and call it a demonstrator, but it doesn't change what the factory did. Just like making your own Super HTA.

The yellow stripe down the middle is caused by paint or reflector tape.

Hey Jed, down here in Misery, all that means is he was sitting in the middle of the road when the state striper came along. They stripe over anything that happens to be in the middle of the road down here rather than move it. Harley

i'm sure that dealers took out m's and h's to farms to demonstrate them, but they weren't painted white from the factory.
