I"m trading for an 806, and a 1206. I will keep one for farm use,(use with 10 or 12 ft mower, and hay roller) and one to sell. Which one would be the best to keep? I have an idea of my own but wanted more experenced advice. What do you think?

Keep the one that has had better care! That's the one you will be happier with. A 40 year old tractor that has been abused can cost you several thousand in repairs in the blink of an eye. 806 an 1206 are both really neat tractors and I'd be happy owning either.

Do you know what the biggest difference between the 2 really is?.... Turbo charger!... the 1206 is turboed. Which gives it more horse power. Otherwise they are basically the same.

1206 has turbo, intercooling, heavier hitch and torsion bar, heavier rear end gears, bull gears are aprox 1/2" wider, and other heavier components. Definitely not the same tractor as a 806 with a turbo.

The 1206 contains a multitude of differences/upgrades from the 806, other than the turbo. I don't feel like looking them all up at this time... but rest assured there are some major differences.

I'd keep the 1206 - more collectible.

Without knowing some specifics, we would only tell you which we would keep for our best interest. 1206 would be my choice.
BBBUUUTTT. Are the tractors identical:
In hours
In cosmetic beauty
In rubber
In broken components
In maintenance
In driver accomodations?

Are your needs rationally leaning toward bigger tooling, or handier operation. What implement sizes do you already have and/or will you need to invest more with one than the other to put them to work?

Answer these, and you have your answer.
