Farmall F-12 trip bucket loader?!?!?!?

Small farm in Maine, we still have the first F12 my dad bought second hand. It was the first (real tractor) on a third generation farm that helped re-clear the pine and poplar trees back from the fields. (Will have to post the real neat Doodle bug my dad built at age 14, 1923 Star motor car with TT worm drive rear end.) My question to the forum is: does any one have pics or knowledge of how a bucket loader was hooked up and used on an F-12? I just bought a bunch of F-12 stuff including another F-12 tractor, F-12 parts tractor and a neat trip bucket loader of all things! This brings me to having 3 complete F-12’s 2 on rubber, 1 on steel. I do not plan on working the bucket loader, as we have more modern tractors for that kind of stuff, plus it looks dangerous as all get out! Appreciate the help.

Thanks, EF

Is there a winch and a belt pulley at front of the loader. Seen one of these at the local old tractor gathering that used the tractor pulley running a belt to the front of the tractor.

At the front of the tractor, the belt driven pulley turn a small steel wheel. Above this was a larger steel wheel that was connected to a cable drum by a steel link chain. The large steel pulley moved up and down about 2 in. There was a spring that held the large wheel up against a brake pad the stop it from turn. By pulling a lever alittle, the large steel wheel would move down away from the brake pad and the loader would drop. Pulling the lever all the way would bring the large wheel down against the belt driven wheel and raised the loader.

Think about using this loader for liftint a motor out of a vehicle!

Thanks Don,

Wish you had a pic of that setup! As far as removing motors I will leave that to my trusty fork lift! Appreciate the info!

EF

Can't help ya on the loader but I do have a couple of questions:

1. Where are you in Maine? I'm on the Downeast Coast, near Milbridge.

2. I'd LOVE to see some pictures of the loader. I'm always looking for things to do with my F14...
