I would like to find a car from the IHC Company to restore (1930's?? and earlier???). I really do not know anything about them or if they are affordable or not??? I would appreciate information about them if anyone has any. Also if anyone has a car for sale that is reasonable priced and in fair condition to restore, I would appreciate a contact. Thanks in advance. I am also looking for: CASE, Allis-Chalmers, Velie and Deere autos (or other cars that were made by tractor companies).

Apart from the very early stuff with two cylinders (1907-1910), I believe the only car like vehicle IHC made was a station wagon and later the Scout. The station wagon was built on the light pickup frame. It eventually acquired the name of Travelall.

For several years after 1910, IHC tried their hand building conventional roadsters and touring cars. Apparently the project failed as less than 2000 of these were produced.

If you are anywhere near Hershey, PA, this is the week to see some examples of early IH automotive design. If you chat with the owners, I'll bet they will give you some leads on where to acquire a finished vehicle or a basket case.

You should look at "150 Years of International Harvester" by H. Wendel. There are about 50 photos of road vehicles dating before 1930. Each photo has a lengthy and descriptive caption. Numerous venders at Hershey will have the book or you can order it from Amazon, etc.

If you go to the Wisconsin Historical site they have some pictures. Search for "auto-wagon" or "auto-buggy" See if my link works.

eBay has plenty of older IH pickups. You can also check out oldihc.org for more on the IH pickups...

Thanks for the information. I am actually looking for the older IHC models. I do not know the years they were made, but I am guessing 1930's and earlier???

The IH trucks from the thirties were the "D" models and had horizontal sheet metal grill bars. They are available if you look and wait.

The IH trucks from the 20s and early thirties had exposed radiator cores. The most common available would be the "6 Speed Special", which had a 3 speed tranny and a 2 speed axle. Look west of the Mississippi for these. They come available frequently. Good chance you'll find one in good unrestored condition.

check the yt Classic trucks here or aths. org
