Hello I have a International 1704 Loader mounted on 706 Diesel I was wondering what is worth it broke up a little bit but use about. The arms are perfect but the side braces have been rewelded and the bucket is starting to rot out. Also what would a 706 Diesel be worth in restored condition without the loader? Is the loader worth anything otherwise I might send it to the scrapyard in the future.

Thank you

The loader is probably worth little more than scrap, a couple hundred $ if the cylinders are in good shape and don't leak. As for the 706, it depends on your definition of "restored". If this is just an average old 706 with a tired 282 diesel, worn out shift linkage, fast hitch or no rockshaft, and the TA is out, and you're just planning on slapping on a coat of paint, it'll be worth around $2500. Now, if by restored you mean a full engine overhaul done right, a new TA, new paint, new wiring, tires at least 75%, and you've got desirable features such as a IH wide front and a real 3-point hitch, could be worth close to $10,000, even more if you've got a late model with the 310 diesel. Of course, you'll probably have $15,000 into it if you have all of that work professionally done. So, you see how hard it is to answer a question like that?

I bought the tractor from one owner the engine is stuck. It has no TA and the actually hours is 914. It has been setting for 10 years. The guy only used it for hay work on a forty acre farm.

If the loader is that thrashed, and the tractor only shows 914 hours, I would be VERY suspicious. Loaders don't get that beat in only 914 hours, so either the tractor has been heavily abused, or it has way more than 914 hours on it.

You anywhere near Buffalo, NY? I might be interested in the loader.
