This weekend I took my A down to the Harvest Festival at Sunset Hill Farm in Valparaiso, IN. There was a guy there with a 400LP that had a Roll-A-Matic narrow front end on it! I"ve never seen one on a Farmall. He said it came original on the tractor and that IH had offered it for a short time (like 90 days) on the 400s and had dropped it because nobody was interested in it. Seems strange because they were pretty popular on JDs. I just wondered if anybody else had seen one. I"ve looked at a lot of tractors and I can"t remember ever seeing one, but then I don"t normally look between the tires of a narrow front tractor either. I can"t remember seeing it mentioned on the tractor web sites either. Brian

The man who created and developed the roll-a-matic tried to market it to IH. IH did install a few of them for testing purposes, but the IH boys were not too impressed with it and never did market it or install it on any production tractors. The roll-a-matic unit could be very easily adapted to fit on just about any narrow front Farmall. I suspect that is what has been done.

Other than being born in Valpo, And knowing where Sunset Hill farm is, I have never seen one either, I assumed it was a JD component. JimN
