After following all the testing tips and guide I got it has came down to needing a new voltage regulator. Now the hard part spend $70.00 on a new regulator or switch it over to 12 volt. I have an alternator off of an 84 buick, new 12 volt battery and coil so wouldn't need to buy much for the conversion. What do you all think would be best way to go? Thanks for all the help and advice on the SC. Terry

Should have stayed with the 6v system as it is more than ample to start your engine.

If it were me I'd stick with 6 volts.

No way you need to pay $70 for a voltage regulator however! If you have a TISCO nearby look there - VR's run $35 - $40 or so at their stores.

Or order on line direct from this site - $43 delivered to your front door!

I would order from this site but I am in Canada and they don't ship here. I will search around but so far they are the same price from a car parts store or a tractor equipment place. I would just as soon keep it 6 volt but if there is going to be expensive problems with it down the road might as well switch now and have it over with.
