I've been trying to find a small starter gas tank for my M.. It has a round bottom instead of a flat bottom with a flange like the later M and bolts up differently. I've tried just about every yard that I can find, without success. Anybody have any ideas on who to check with, or does anybody have one in reasonable condition that they might sell?

Thanks guys. The add mentioned is a flat flange bottom, not round bottom, I've tried all the parts places mentioned and then some. I'm going to keep looking before I try modifying a later tank.

these are very hard to find. My port was loose on the bottem of mine and ended up opening it up and repairing it.I have one off a 41 and it looks like you could heat the bottem to get the sodder to flow and knock the bottem out then heat the treaded fitting and turn both upside down and would be real close the the 39 one. The mounting is a little different but you could probly fabricate one to work. I can help you with pictures if you need any. Paul

Have you tried bates corporation, or weber tractor parts. I've had pretty good look with both.
