Does anyone know if it's possible to put electric start on a McCormick T20 (1937)
hand crank is a killer.

I had an uncle that moved back to MO around 1960 and bought 80 acres. His first tractor was a Regular. His FIL bolted a sproket in the u joint between the clutch and trans. then mounted a starter on the frame, and fixed it to engage to another sproket some way I just don't remember how then used a roller chain between sprokets he used that for 3 or 4 years before he bought an A John Deere.

If the flywheel doesn't have a ring gear and an
access plate where starters are usually installed
I doubt that a starter can be installed.

If you have a belt pulley on the tractor you may be able start the engine using another tractor's
belt pulley to turn your T20's pulley. I use my garden tractor's engine to crank a big Toro mower's engine that's hard to pull with a rope.
You may need to cross the drive belt so the T20's pulley will crank the engine in the right direction. Hal
