I have a UHM power unit on a Snogo blower. Is a 6 cyl. gas with magneto. Casting code on ex. manifold is 11 4 K with the stamped in #5310-D. Casting code on block is 6 11 K. Has Purolator oil filter bolted to the block. Does resemble the picture of Red Diamond truck engine in my late 40s Motor Manual. Has Champion W14 spark plugs. Has International on left side of block over the 3 diamonds. I would like to know if this engine uses engine parts from another IHC engine. Also has an updraft carb. Any help to identfy this monster would be appreciated . Thank you!

Sounds like it could be the six that was in the W40. Does it have a two piece valve cover? Is there a flat tube for the plug wires? There should be a flat boss with some letters stamped in it toward the top of the block

It has 2 pieces above the head . One is cast about 3 inches thick and the top valve cover is stamped tin. There is no flat tube for the plug wires but may have had one once. I have not taken the stamped tin cover off yet but expect the cast piece directly below the tin is held by the head bolts. It does have I think 10 head bolts exposed on the right side. The stamped #s on the pad on the left side are UHM. Could the HM portion be it was speced a certain way by snogo? I did find on a google another owner of a snogo saying his engine had a tag saying UHL-1 as well as the UHM stamped in the block. I also found a snogo with a UD engine but don't know what that is . Didn't the W40 have a FAA ,FBB or FBC which may have predated the Red Diamond 361? Any help would be appreciated.

The "K" stands for 1941. I am surprised there isn't an aluminum tag somewhere that would indicate max RPM and model number. Perhaps, even HP.

Thanks for the reply. On a google search I found a message saying his UHM power unit in a snogo also had a tag with UHL-1 and the RPM was 1800. If there is an aluminum tag I have not found it.
