I tried this yesterday on the tractor talk board. Will try this one today. The gear shift lever broke down inside the transmission of my '81 S-Series IH tractor hauler yesterday. It might be fixable, but would like to replace with one that is not broken. I've looked high and low and so far no go. This is out of a T699 IH five speed transmission. If you know of some salvage yards in your area that handles parts like this, or you have an old S-Series truck out in the back fourty that you would part out, please let me know. I've searched all the yards in my area and have searched the internet without any luck so far. My email is open so you can contact me directly.

Not familiar with the transmission, but what broke?

I can see two things. The end of the shifter or a horizontal pin in the tower that keeps the shifter from rotating. If the later, that can be fixed in five minutes with a new dowel pin.

The end of the shifter broke off right at the hole where the dowel goes through. Wish it were only the dowel that broke.

Have you tried the dealer yet?

Yep, called the dealer. Discontinued part. He checked the obsolete warehouse and everyone in the network and no one had one. Thanks, though.
