Hello,

Can a persons still buy a good thick walled quality muffler for a farmall H. the one I have now is about 30 years old and is thick and heavy and made in usa... All the ones I have seen are cheap thin walled that I don't belive will last

You should be able to get one from a local place that is made by STANLEY and they are good or even try a dealer.

Jet Coating is a ceramic coating that is sprayed on at facilities who specialize in that kind of work. It is very commonly used on race car headers, etc. On headers, it can be applied both inside and out - I don't know about the inside of mufflers, but I doubt it.
It keeps exhaust systems from rusting and it keeps heat inside the headers rather than letting it escape into the engine bay of a race car.
"Jet Hot Coating" is merely the name of one company who performs this work. It is usually available in two or more colors, silver being the more common over black.

I was real happy with the muffler I got from Mark's Tractors at 217-694-4735 that CNKS recomended.

I second that. Although he doesnt have them jet coated anymore, they are made in usa and nice quality.

Search the archives for Farmall mufflers, there are two sources, one is for stainless, the other is more conventional. JimN
