Lifter Arm?

I was digging in the barn for pieces to my Super A and found this. It matches up to the length for the "lifter arm" on the farmall 140's but a little differant shape.

Length is 4'7" not considering the bends.

Looks to me like it would fit on the left hand side of the tractor on the inside "lifter arm" that comes off the "hydraulic box" then fit in the top section of the rocker arms.

So if I am guessing right is the bend correct or has it been bent? Was there suppose to be a sping or something else there? Looks like there should have been something between the front end in the picture and the collar thats about four inches from there, maybe a spring goes there?

Super-A, You're right, it's bent, and it does mount to the inside arm on the hydraulic lift unit, but there's no spring (according to the A-144 cultivator manual). You are missing the collar (w/set screw) to place against the swivel to allow downward pressure on rear-mounted implements which do have springs on their down-links. But that collar has to be removed or loosened and moved out of the way when using an implement that rises on uneven gound (like a 3-pnt rotary cutter) or the lift link rod will get bent (you can guess how I know that).

Yep, went and looked at that Cultivator Manual you mentioned and I need one of them.

I have the planter and a lot of the other things it shows in that manual. I just dont know how they all fit together. All the plows have springs on them. Found one that had double plows, looks like for the back.

My arm looks almost like that on my 48 SA. except it isn't bent. the only bend in mine is to offset the rod so it lines up with the front and rear rockshaft. it does not have a spring on it.I can't tell you if it ever had one or not as it came this way.

Thanks,

Looks like another one of those things where I need to find one first to figure out what I need to do with mine to straighten it out. At least I have it so the rest I can do when I get the tractor back together.
