Reference buying a 656 from a dealer in New York this spring. I sure love the tractor, I have been plowing and harrowing with it. I have about 300 acres to plow, I got a sandrum plow wide 2 bottom plow, would like another bottom but plowing 2nd gear high range full throttle I can cover alot of ground. Also using a Oliver disc 252 about 12 ft wide..

Tom

Mine is a Diesel, I have plowed in 3rd tractor will pull it but too many rocks once in a while I hitch solid.... I am hoping to find a third bottom to hitch on mine I am not sure but they are either 18 or 20 inch bottoms. It sure plows trash good it very seldom ever plugs...I would like an IH 720 auto reset plow someday.

Normally we would plow a 4-14 IH plow with the 656 gas no problem.

I have a 656 Gas with a wide front. I also plow with it. I pull a John Deere 3-14 plow. I plow in 2nd gear and find that is about all the tractor can handle. I plow fairly deep, about 8 inches. I pull a 10 ft. disc and it handles that easily. Is yours a gas or diesel?
