I'm looking around for a hood for my H, since mine is pretty beat u;. I have a Distilate tractor. I know those have the extra hole for the small gas tank. But is there a hood length difference between a regular gas tractor and mine? Or is the only difference the addition of the extra hole?

Mike, as far as I can tell, there is no difference in the length of the hoods. The only difference that I know of is the extra hole, and that hole can be filled in if you don't need it. Aftermarket reproduction hoods are available for the A, B, and C, but as far as I know, no one is producing hoods for the Farmall H or M.

Rusty, I have decided to keep the tractor in it's original form, and return what has been changed back to original. So, I am going to keep that extra fuel little fuel tank, I'm obviously just not going to use it.

We always used the little tank for a reserve, os if we rna out of gas in the field or woods we could get back to the barn.

Thanks Kieth,

I had looked before and didn't see a hood for an H. Too bad too, because that would be perfect.

How would using an aftermarket hood keep the tractor in it's original form?

Too Bad also::: in reply to Mike CA, 09-15-2006 23:23:50
Mike when I broused catalog thought I seen hood for H. But after your reply, I went and took a better look. Shore nuff, no H hood. What a let down.

I take it you are still in Military, if so check and see if they have a hobby shop on your base for auto repair and body work. We had one on almost every Army base I was on in the 60's.

That hood should be an easy fix, I just did Shawn's hood, was rusted out around exhaust hole on hood. I even impressed myself on finished job..:>)
Good luck

Keith & Shawn
