I got mine 5 months ago. I paid 5k for her. She was 80% torn down, and the front half had been cleaned and primed. I have gone completely through this tractor while putting it back together. Started her up on gas about 6 weeks ago, then she wouldn't run on diesel. Pulled top of injector pump off and removed plunger valve. Valve in bottom was stuck. Good ole PB Blaster soak in a jar for 8 hours, came back and valve spring had pulled valve loose. Installed, and she runs on the D side like it was brand new. Now that I know that mechanically she is fine....I have pulled injector pump, Manifolds, distributor, radiator, and everything else that is in the way so as to get a GREAT paint job. I believe that as nicely done as this girl will be, and the way she runs, and she has factory wide IH front....I don't think you could wrestle her away from me for under 15k and in a few more years...it might take 20k or more. I know this sounds crazy but a whole lot of dual fuel motors got replaced when the head cracked. It was the weak spot of dual fuel engines.(The cause was not allowing the engine to warm-up properly on gas before switching to diesel, or running them out of water)Many a dual fuel was replaced by a gasser. Always look closely on these era tractors that you aren't looking at a gasser that was originally a dual fuel. DREW

I think you'll find that not letting it cool down preperly before shutting down is the biggest head buster. Run it at a fast idle for at least five minutes after working hard to get the ehat out of the head.

I may be wrong, bu ti put them over on diesel as soon as they'll take on off, and when I'm in hurry that may take two or three tries. I did bust a head on a TD-18 once, but that was from inadequate cooldown on a cold day.

I was at an auction yesterday where a "350" Farmall went for $4,200. Good tires and straight sheet metal.

at least 6000 to 8000 or more as not that many made and the price keeps going up and up. depends on location and condition and good advertising.

Condition means a lot, but they are quite sought after right now, so it is a good time to sell.

Red Power would be a good place.

You might search the archives on this site for auciton results, there was a large auction posted a few wweeks ago where several sold.

Roger it is worth $ 750.00 , I will be by in the morning to pick it up !!!

Seriously , It depends on a lot of things. I find the Location is one of the biggest factors. Here in NH , a good painted , good running M-TA can bring as much as $6500, add that its a Diesel and its gonna be considerably more.

Now remember I didnt say that I would pay that, but some will.

Yeah, speaking of NH, I saw a scruffy looking SMTAD at Dublin about 7 years ago. He wanted $8000. A lot of people around here don't want to own the IH gas/diesel and I think that predjudice goes way back. Consequently, we don't see many around here. Except for potato country in Northern Maine and the Connecticut River Valley which separates VT and NH, most agriculture used to be small diary operations. Gas tractors were more suitable.

For those in New England, Dublin is this weekend. Sat and Sun.
