Last week while using my 2 pt hitch the hydraulic pump began to make a funny sound. Found out I was real low on oil. I filled it up but the sound is still there. Its fine when the hydraulics aren't being used but when I pull the lever, the pump makes a kind of growling/vibrating sound that lasts for 2-3 seconds after I release the lever, then it stops until the next time I move the lever. Any diea what to look for?

Have you checked the screen/ filter in the bottom of the hydraulic box? Could be dirty or collapsed.

what color is the oil? if its a cream color, that means theres water in the oil and it needs replaced.
Mine is doing the same thing, tho probably not as boad and i know my oil has water in it, and I'm going to change it, but that darn oil is so expensive!!

I had water in the oil and I drained the whole thing before I added the new oil. It is a lot of oil to replace for a small tractor.
