Group: I am adding a new pump on the PTO shaft on my 47 M. The belly pump is not operational. The new pump will cover all of the shaft and leave a recess into the new pump. What have you guys done to run a pto powered implement with this type of setup? I am thinking there must be an extension shaft available to make the connection and be able to lock the two together. As always, thanks for any help in advance. Ron

In my opinion it is usually not done unless the pump was designed to be extended, or came with a shaft from the manufacturer. Extending the shaft might be a source of whipping viabration and danger from the clearance in the splines allowing something to extend far beyond the factory shaft. I would be shy of any extension not recommended by the pump manufacturer for that reason. My thinking JimN

Cowmans solution would meet my definition of acceptable. Be sure to follow the install directions, and if your PTO shaft is worn and the system is sloppy, be careful of the whipping action I described. JimN

yes, there is an extension you can buy that will pass completly through your pump and stick out far enough to hook on the next machine. Ask at your tractor supply store or dealer.

Hub City Machine (Fargo ND, I think) makes the hardware. They have a website. Goto the agriculture or PTO section of their on-line catalog. They may do direct sales but your cost won't be any cheaper than buying from a farm store or bearing house.

I presume you are talking about a Prince pump. You should check their website as well.
