Here ya go City-Boy McCoy! You said you couldn't believe how many old Farmalls were around up here in Wisconsin: Well, here is a picture of the Farmalls that are in one little shed, in one little township, in Wisconsin...all of them still being used regularly. They aren't the prettiest by any standard, but they have good tin and run as quick as you can touch the button on any one of them!

Sorry about the quality of the photos, but I'm guessing I got a drop of rain on the lense. I'll try cleaning them up tonight and re-posting them.

Not a bad crop of tobacco in the shed too.

Billy

nice collection, I like the H's...

currently my H has a bad set of gears as the imput shaft bearing failed and flew all over the tranny case and broke teeth off the gears. cannot wait to put in a new set and get her running again.

Billy,

That is very typical in the Dodge and Fond du lac counties of WI. Nearly evey farm has a farmall in the yard, barn or field. Even the guys with the big new green stuff (won't admit to certain people) probably have a farmall in the shed.

Hey Dave Kronwald! This is what you missed the morning you tramped up my way and stopped by. I had to clean the shed out...and the only way to do that is one piece at a time. You could have been operating all kinds of stuff had you showed up a couple of hours earlier! :P

Maybe next time...

Billy

Hey, Billy. Especially too bad, since I had my camera when Emma-the-Super-Shorthair and I paid you a visit. We'll have to do it again...when we both know I'm coming up and I can have plenty of film with me. Don't mean to brag, but I've been shooting tractors and stuff outdoors for years and am not too bad at it. When I worked for that shortliner, Howard Rotavator Company, I not only wrote the brochures but shot all the photography as well. Did some of the same for Jacobsen Division of Textron in Racine. Anyway, seeing the tobacco shed and all the Farmalls in your photos made me kind of nostalgic about Stoughton and my jaunt up there.

Got a kick out of your email. I agree with you about the Steam Pile Driver display. Cute as a button, yep...I noticed. How incongruous. You would expect to see some grizzled old-timer with his overalls mired in grease and sweat, not some brassy young lassie with a classy chassis climbing around a thing like that.

BTW, there's some kind of tractor show going on this weekend just north of Belvidere, IL, on Hunter Road. I may be able to sneak away, though I should stay home and work on the deck. I think Bobby (whose shed my Super M is housed in)is taking a tractor down there.

Also appreciated what you said in your email about my very own tobacco axe. I don't remember Alvin's name on the one I saw, but I will follow up on that one.

Just a little correction on my name, Buster. It's w-a-l-l, not w-a-l-d. Do I call you Willy? And it's Macdonald, not Macdougal, just in case you try saying that after a third Pabst.

Take care, friend. Thanks for sharing the photos at the farm.

David

Sorry David! My fingers got away from me typing I guess! Kronwall it is!

Ya know...I may have to take you up on photo ops sometime! It seems like you have a pretty well rounded background in it. A little expertise goes a long way...especially if it's in an area that I don't have to solid a background in!

Well, I've picked out a tobacco axe for ya. It's got your name on it. We'll have to set up a time here in the future and you can give it a good home. If you actually get to use it cutting tobacco, you may be kind of mad I gave it to you. It can be a back-breaker at times.

Geeze, Belvidere isn't that far down the road...too bad I have to swill beer at the UW Badger football game today though!

I'll catch up with you next week David! Nice to hear from ya!

That was quite a lassie oiling that pile driver huh? YIKES! What a hottie!
