Where can I find the location of the serial number on the Super M-TA? The serial number plate on the tractor is all most unreadable. There is a number that has five digits and an S at the end but the tractor shop I called to verify that number said it was not the serial number. Any help would be great. Thanks

Well the number that I found was something like 69685S. Would that be the serial number. Because the guy that I talked with at Wengers said the number would start with a F or an L.

Wenger's is mistaken. The Super M not the SMTA was built at the Farmall plant (F) or at Louisville (L). All SMTA's were built at Farmall, thus no need for a letter.

As Wardner said it is the aluminum plate on the left side of the clutch housing. The S means that you have found the number -- 60001-83523 is the range.

If the number is five digits beginning with 6, 7, or 8, and it is on the aluminum tag that is attached to the left side of flywheel housing, it is your serial number.

The "S" stands for torque amplifier and "provision for Independent Power Take-Off Attachment". That means you probably have the IPTO sticking out the back of the tractor.
