Hi Guys,
I need new hydraulic fluid, as mine is contaminated with water. My sis's fiance can get me all new hoses custom length for free, as well as 2 different types of hydraulic oil. Here is the 2 different type:

-Sunoco 100 He says they use this in ALL of their presses, air tools, hydraulic lines and so on

-Sunoco 68 He can also get this but in less quantity

These number do not refer to the weight of the oil. He says its more of a sunoco brand/part #

Does anyone have any idea which would be best suited for my 300U?

This guy just saved me about $150 in hoses and nearly 100 in oil (hopefully)

Well, according to sunoco they dont make hydraulic fluid anymore. Thats hard to believe, but whatever. I cannot imagine that the 100 wouldnt work. The only thing I would imagine it could harm is the seals.
Bah, i guess if i can get the hoses for free, then i can just put the old fluid in a 5 gal bucket, let it sit for a few weeks and syphon the good oil off the top, then filter it and reuses it, then buy what i need to top it off.

Get Case-IH HyTran, or an oil the meets HyTran specs. One or both of the ones you mentioned "might" meet the specs, but if Sunoco did not have tractors in mind, perhaps not. I imagine Sunoco does have an oil that meets specs for the current HyTran. Different hydraulic oils are not created equal. But I don't think the 100 will based on your listed uses.
