I was looking through the parts catoloug today and was wondering why farmall stuff is so expensive compared to other makes and models. I can completly rebuild an 8N ford for about 1/3 the cost of a farmall? JON

Farmallgray. 1,000,000 N's. 400,000 H,s. How many JD's? PUT PUT! Try getting parts for a tractor they only made 10,000 of. This site works. Thanks. David.

I had a nightmare trying to get oil seals from the local Case/IH dealer. Called Carter & Gruenwald today and will have them this week. I got Easy Bob's steering wheel on de dawg today and the Agri Supply seat bolted down. Sometimes you gotta give an arm or a leg but the info on this forum is priceless. Thanks to all. David.

I thought the parts for my H were reasonable... the labor/machine work was ridiculous!

I think it is a supply and demand issue. On Ford 8N, 2N, and 9N most of the engine and major parts are the same. They made almost a million Ns. The H was the most popular IH with less than 400,000 made.
So there is a lot bigger market for Ford parts.
They can be made in larger quantities and therfore at a lower cost.

Yep you are right I just looked up the deer and the piston and rings are about double of that of an H or M but You only need half as many. lol Nad the pistons are about twice the size. but the gasket sets are pretty comparible. JON

Fords need rebuilding about three times as often, so I guess it equates to the quantity produced.

Why do BMW parts cost more than Chevy?

Quality? Precision?
Exclusivity, perhaps?
