The 1.5" pipe threads are about gone that the muffler pipe screws into. I need some ideas on what I can do without having to pull the manifold off.
Thanks, Kevin

Since the threads are tapered, using a tap to cut a bit deeper probably will salvage that manifold. A new pipe is a necessity.

Kevin: I'd get a new black iron pipe with fresh new threads. Not saying it will work 100%. I've done two of them with good success and one not so good. It's reasonable and worth a try.

I've tried that already & it lasted a while, but I hauled it on my trailer & I noticed when I got home it was bent over.

Thanks, Kevin

Kevin: I gather from what your telling me the manifold is in quite bad shape. One other thing you might try again with the new pipe, is brazing it to the manifold. I've never done it, but have seen it done with good success. You have to look at it from the point of view, "manifold is toast anyhow, what have I got to loose." I think before I went to that trouble, I'd look the manifold over well for thin spots or cracks.

Have you checked out the price of a new manifold for a 140? I think they are available.
