I have a 1066 that when started cold will leak oil from behind the steering wheel valve. If I turn the wheel lock to lock, leak will stop. I have had the cover off and of coarse it will not leak at that time. I have tightened all the steel lines and all appear to be in good shape. As I said the leak appears to be comeing from the back of that valve. This problem started after tractor was in to have T/A replaced. Does anyone have any ideas....Thanks Rick

If the oil isn't running down the outside of the steering column then it can be a cracked line under the nut, bad o-ring under fitting or the back of the pump has a cover that it could be coming from. Take off ether button cover and hoods and keep looking.

The seal on the orbital motor is leaking and need to be replaced . Not a hard job tools required are a steering wheel puller snap ring pliers and a 1 1/18th scocket 2 1/4 x 6 fine thread bolts a couple flat washer and a 1/4th fine thread tap to clean the bolt holes out in the steering wheel . Pull the wheel remove the snap ring put the steering wheel back on with out the nut and give a sharp twist either way and it will pop the old seal out pull the wheel back off remove what ya see has to come out and replace same with what is in the kit cost is somewhere around 15 bucks. time requried to do this about 15-30 min.
