I'm looking for any help I can get. I just converted my SH to a 12volt system, everything seems to be working fine, however when the tractor sits overnight I have a dead battery when I go to start it Can someone tell me what I did wrong?

Greg, It would help if we knew whether your conversion was to a 12 volt generator or an alternator and if an alternator, what kind (one wire or 3 wire and internal or external regulator etc) and how it was wired.

Sounds like you have the alternator wired wrong. You need to have the #1 wire from the plug going to the switch, the side that is hot when its turned on not the side that is hot all the time. You also need to have a diode or light bulb wire in so you can turn the engine off.

Not sure what alternator you used but did you run the wire that starts your alternator charging thru your switch or key. If this wire remains live after the motor stops it will be a draw on the battery.
