Well the saga with my 656 has come down to should I parts it or fix it. I pulled the injectors as advised. Number 4 was really hung up, but it did finally come out. It was followed by antifreeze. Yes, I need to remove the head, but time being short as it always is, maybe I should just begin parting it out. Do you guys think there would be much demand for 656 Hydro parts?

If your 656 is a row crop, you know that the hydro works good doesn't stall, and that the diff and axles are fine I'd say overhaul the engine. If the hydro is weak internally then send it down the road. If you break an IH into 3 parts its not so bad when its 1/3 of the tractor to repair but when its 2/3 then thats when the cost of the repair and is it worth it come into play. Does the tractor pay for itself on the farm or is it just another expence. Q's and A's need to be evaluated like that if you want to come out ahead. I can't say what the call is for parted out hydro's but I don't think its all that demading anymore. Hope this helps and best of luck to ya on whatever you decide.
