H parts catalog typos?

Is there quite a few typos in the parts catalog? I was looking at the carb kit and trying to cross reference them to the parts breakdown and many of them don't match and have the wrong description. for example in the package part# 354 452 R91 it shows part# 24 685 D as a retainer, should be a spring. The package list 45 122 DAX but that number is not on the parts list.

Was this pretty common back then?

Randy

I would have not given the spring/retainer a second thought had you not mentioned it. IMO it can be considered a retainer, as it keeps tension on the screws and keeps them from moving. The current kit is likely different from the one listed. The parts cd shows 45122DAX as not available.

The books were periodically revised and correction pages at the very front were included. My TC55A which covers F400-450 has four pages of corrections covering more than 100 errors.

Those books are a major undertaking for the Company. I don't begrudge them an error once in a while. IHC must have had a huge publications department and I suppose most of the editors must have had hunchbacks, brain fatigue, and perpetual eye strain. It couldn't have helped when they started putting two pages on one with the 560 model. Was paper that expensive back then?
