I know of a place to pick up a tumblebug plow. Nice because you do not have to turn a headland, just flip and head back down the furrow you just plowed apparently. But do they work ok, or are they too contankerous?

Arod,

I assume when you say "tumble bug" you really are referrin' to a tumble plow?

Like Wayne says, they work great if you can find the lathes and a blacksmith to keep 'em sharp. :>)

Ya have to loop/figure 8 your turns to allow the plow to change directions, but it doesn't take long to get the hang of it.

I have plowed many acres with one on flood irrigated land at the confluence of the Yellowstone & Missouri rivers. My son, neighbor, & I have one here in MN and use it at the Lake Region Pioneer Threshing show. (Sept 8,9,10!!)
Watch for a bent frame and look at the plowshares (left throw ones are hard to come by).
I have an operators manual & can share info with you.
