Well, I rolled my Super C into the garage to check out an illness, and it apears that she is pretty sick:( I am probing around the idea of doing a rebuild on her as opposed to just patching her up. It makes no sence to take the silly thing apart and not do it right. I was going to pull the pan off this eve, and look at some bearings. I figured that would give me some more insight. I was just wondering about rebuild kits from you folks out there. Some yays or nays either way would be greatly appreciated:)

Thanks, Wheaty

Well, I tore off the oil pan and it was full of sludge. I han't seen anythig this bad before, maybe it is normal?? The last thing that i saw that was like this was a 2.8 V-6 out of an 83 S10 Blazer, that had an intake manifold gasket issue. It basicaly drank all of the water/anitfreeze into the oil pan:(

When I drained the oil there was water/anitfreeze that came out first. It wasn's alot, but it was there. The sump was covered by sludge, I can't believe that I have'nt spun a bearing!?!? I am not for sure what to do with this thing... I posted on this guy a little while back, and the info I recieved was to look at the sleeve O'seals and head gasket. I have no Idea what machine work is going to cost to get the crank done and the head. I fugure i better do it all, if i am going to do it:(

What do you guy's suggest?? Thanks,
Wheaty

You can buy a sleeve and piston kit from this forum that's listed under Marketplace to your upper left. Your local machine shop can get rod and main bearings once they measure the shaft and determine if it needs to ground undersize or just polished. Some of the kits may have a gasket set too. Hal

Wheaty:
I have absolutely no experience with tractor rebuild kits. However, I just met a man in Wisconsin who rebuilds tractors and he is sold on the kits sold by TISCO. For whatever that is worth.....

Wheaty, I haven"t had to rebuild my Super C yet, but I"d love to hear what you decide to do and how it goes, as I"ll probably have to do something eventually. I hope you"ll keep us updated, as most of this site concentrates on H"s & M"s.
