Ok...gonna ask you guys that know more than me.
I have a mess of 300 and 350U tractors setting around...some mine, some were dad's and some I bought.
I pulled a 350U home last night that is a good tractor except the owner ran it without oil...he said his kid did.
Anyway...the sheet metal is perfect, has PS and a good looking lift on it. Just a good looking tractor...with a hole in the block.
I have a 350U LP that dad had. The fuel system is junk...even he said so. He said once got it for parts. No lift, no PS and a straight PTO...not live. It had a loader and that's it. I am wondering...can I put the engine on the better 350U with a carb and fuel tank? I know the compression ratio is higher and it will have to have lead substute for the fuel, but bottom line will it work?
Any ideas?
I am always open to your input.
Thanks.....

Here's another opinion, if its going to be a working tractor and has original type pistons I think you will be okay on compression with regular or mid grade gas. agian for working tractor I would use gas manifold especially in coller weather with 350 gas carb you already have.
Original LP distributor have less total advance than gasoline models and I think if you keep using it with gas and the higher compression it would be a help for working tractor on lower octane gas.

use everthing including the manifols and put a M carb on it.If you can find a 350 venturi to put in the carb.I used a 350 lp in my H with the M carb and it runs a little rich but not bad.

In addition, I would recurve the distributor, (or use the Gas unit (timed correctly). If the compression measures at 150 psi or lower, and the timing is on, it should run on 87 octane fuel. Go for it,

I am reluctant to give advice on something like this but I think if you keep the RPMs lively when under load you won't have a fuel problem. If you change the manifolds, you will have a propane manifold to sell to the pullers. They should bid it up pretty good.

Sounds like you already have all the parts you need to do that swap. You might want to use the cylinder head from the gas engine, and then you shouldn"t have to worry about using high octane fuel.
