I have been trying a tri-state area (Mich/Ohio/Ind) to find a rear wheel rim for my 1982 784/884 International with NO success. Has anyone got a good source anywhere that may have one of these unique rims? It is noted as P/N 3123 601 R1 in the IH Wheels and Traction Parts Catalog. The inner wheel rim circumference has eight welded on brackets that attach the rim to the cast hub (P/N 388 336 R1). I have been told that the uniqueness of this wheel may force me to grind off the old wheel attaching brackets and have them welded onto a different wheel rim - a consuming task with some risks (for wheel radial and lateral runout). If someone has a possible sourse (US or Canada), please let me know and thanks in advance for such.

I agree it is easier to find a used rim, but don't be scared of having a good welding shop move the brackets from one rim to the other. It is not a hard job for a good welder. Take him your tractor or at tleast the wheel so he can bolt the brackets to the wheel before welding to get everything lined up good.

A little runout will not be noticed. Even at 25 mph the wheel turns pretty slowly.

You can try this toll free number 1-800-843-3056
or email sbreeding@hoober.com. A new rim is no longer available, but they be able to locate a used rim. Good thing you don't need the 388 336R1
they are available for $1500.00. Here's a web site for tractor salvage yards too. Hal
