I've got a 1950 "H" and the gas tank cap leaks a little when the gas sloshes around, especially if I fill the tank almost full. Anybody have a solution other than buy a new cap?
Thanks in advance for your info. The guys on this website have been a very valuable source of information in the past and I appreciate it! Thanks again!!!!

Is the top of the filler neck smooth so your gasket can make decent contact and seal properly?

Use the Gas Cap form (search Archives) to send for a replacement free cap (you need the complete serial number for the form. I do not know how long they will continue the program, they had a big push about six months ago (my brother got 8 caps 6weeks after applying). JimN

Many have had the same problem even with the new baffled replacement taller caps. You may try your local Case NH dealer parts desk to see if they have a new gasket for your old cap or simply visit your local auto parts folks and try to find a new gasket to fit under the tangs of your old cap. When all else fails, I make mine out of high density 1/8" sheet cork cut to fit.
