Went with a friend to bring a car back from Des Moines today.

We filled up in Des Moines for $2.51 and saw a $2.46 sign for 89 octane.

What the heck is going on is big oil trying to compete with the ethanol now or what.

Gary

Pilot Travel Centers are usually competitive on their fuel prices and post their prices nationwide daily. Todays cheapest 87 gasoline at Pilot is $242.9 in Laredo, TX and highest is $319.9 in Castaica, CA. You can tell they are playing games as diesel is $.60 higher than 87 at some locations and only $.10 higher at others.

Just filled up yesterday @ 2.90 for 93 octane here in SD.
That station you found must have been having a promotion of sorts. A local coop here this week was giving a $30.00 cash refund on a fill-up of soy diesel.

Where is this at?

Best price I saw today on the way to work was $2.77 at the Maverick. Sam's club was that price last week, maybe they are a few cents lower than that now... Around $3.50 just a few miles away in CA.

The 87 octane is $2.91 per gallon here in MD. It was around $3.05. They know the heating season
will start soon and they will up the price on heating oil and natural gas. Hal

At that price I'd run some out on the ground.

Down here in San Antonio, 87 is anywhere from 2.57 to 2.89. Depends if your buying it from a truck stop or a raghead.
