I RAN ACROSS A IH 400 WHEATLAND TRACTOR TODAY, I WAS CURIOUS IF THIS IS A DESIRABLE TRACTOR OR NOT. IT'S IN FAIR CONDITION, RUNS, JUST CURIOUS ABOUT IT. ANY POINTERS OR SUGGESTIONS ABOUT IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, THANKS IN ADVANCE!

It's basically the standard version of the 400 rowcrop. Just like the 400 replaced the last version of the M(SMTA), the W-400 replaced the last version of the W6(SW6TA??).

Collectibility-wise, not a whole lot of 'em built, if I could find a decent one for a price I could afford, I'd grab it.

As a using tractor, it depends on what you wanna use it for. They're as reliable as any of 'em, but the wheatland tractors were a little "bulkier" than the rowcrops, and it's harder(though not impossible) to fit em with aftermarket 3-point hitches, etc.
