I finally got the head off my 41 A and two pistons are definitely stuck, #3&4. This is a new adventure for a 75 yr old with a 51 M and now a 41 A. Never too old to learn. now all that stuff I have seen here on the forum will be put to the test

Since I am learning I intend to remove the crankshaft and replace all the bearings. Is that proper way to go? Then I can drive the pistons out from above. I have a handicap , have two metal knees and two metal shoulders so kneeling is out and hamering up is out too. Thanks El Toro . Has been soaking for a month now.

I"m 75. Will be fitting new rings and bearings to my Super C within the next month or so. Did the transmission last year. Good to see us oldies still on the go. Good luck with the restoration.
Sid.

Pour some ATF on top of those pistons and let them soak. Drain the oil and remove the pan.
Loosen the rod and main bearing caps. After 3 or 4 days of soaking remove one of rod caps and use a piece of 2X2 oak and a big hammer to drive out one of the pistons. The sleeve may come with the piston since they're not pressed into the block. That's how I did an A. I'm 73. Hal
