In the Owner"s Manual"s that I have for the Super A, Super C and the H all have the combination rear light listed at the back of the book under Special Equipment and in the Parts Book as an Attachment.
I have never seen one of those lights on any IH tractor imported in to New Zealand from the USA, but would have liked to have had one.
Sid.

Thank you for your imformation, this is my first attempt at a Farmall Super A, engine number (251069 R1 Serial number 301714) i believe 1950/51 model, a real challange at my time of life 71 years young. i have been purchasing bits and pices from EBay from the US, as parts here are not easy to get here i find it very convienent.
Thanks again great forum read it each day
John

At least on the early ones, any electrical equipment was probably an option. Although I have never seen one that came without the basic lights and starter. On tractors with lights, the combination rear light was an option to replace the white work light (identical to a headlight) that was part of the lighting package. I have seen Super A's with the white rear light. Combination lights were probably not available for the first couple years of production. The earliest combination lights had a separate small tail lamp bolted on top of the work light. Later ones had the red light set into the reflector of the work light.

I have no information on how tractors sent to Australia may have been equipped.

John: All Super A that I've seen came with the combination tail light, that could be changed from white working light to a red non flashing light. Rotary type switch on side of light for change over from white to red.

I suspect it was possible to order a Super A early in production, without any lights.
