Hye, guys, I just bought an 826 Hydro diesel thats been sitting so long that 1 rear tire had gone flat & rotted where it was creased. I was told when we bought it that none of the hydraulics, tranny, steering, lift, nothing worked so we figured the flex plate was busted like our other Hydro has done before. After getting it home we fired it up and , lo & behold the steering started working! I tried putting it in gear and after a few seconds it started moving! Then our luck ran out. The lift, which is fully raised, won't go down, even with a bush hog on it (Ever hooked up to a bush hog without dropping the lift? MAJOR fun!). You can hear some fluid noise when you move the lift lever but nothing happens. We removed the whole lift but I can't find any visible problem. There's 1 valve I can move by hand to get the lift to move so I know the piston is not stuck, but I think that valve is controlled by the draft. Any suggestions? Thanks, Rick.

Centaur The first place I would hve looked before you took the lift off would have been through the third like plate. The lift as a sencing harm that comes up from the torsion bar and 1 down from the top the one from the top must behind the 1 up from the bottom. Once in a while the top one will slip past the bottom harm then the hitch goes all the way up and will not go down. If you have the hitch off you will not see this. So check everything now that you are in there. When you put the hitch back on take the third link plate off so you can hold the top arm back so it will end up behind the bottom arm the top arm as a strong spring on it that you will have to hold.

Well let hope that this is the problem as this is a real easy fix as i would rate this fix at a three wrench job . Remove the top link plate off the back , now loook in there with a trouble lite and on the right hand side next to the housing you will see and long arm comming up from the bottom and there will be a arm lever linkage how ever ya want to call it hanging down from the top if it is in front of the one comming up from the bottom then this is your problem , First pull the draft sencening handel all the way back and lock it in place with a tarp strap vice grips baler twine what ever next a rod with a hook on it is nice to use as it may save your fingers pull the top arm back and around the bottom one and and let it rest against the one from the bottom . Now at times i have found that some of them have somuch slop that it will slide of and they alway come off on the housing side i have taken and welded a flat washer to the arm comming up from the bottom on the right side of it this is a BARN YARD fix that works.
