Can anyone tell me how to remove the rivets from an old serial tag from a Farmall 200 and how to install a new one? The tag is badly beaten and eroded away and I want my restoration to be complete. Thanks for your help.

If you purchase a replacement plate from OEM Tractor Parts, it comes with new rivets. Just drill the old ones out.

You can drill out the old rivets and use pop rivets to reinstall the new tag. Hal

I used a pair of wire cutters and got a good bite on the head of the rivet as close to th tag as I could. Then used a big screwdriver as a fulcrum under the wirecutters and pried the rivit out. It wasn't easy because one of the rivets had been bent when it was installed - due to a big goober in the casting, close to the hole for the rivet.
